Default Is Breast Feeding Good for Mother and Child?

Everyone knows that breastfeeding is the best source of energy for new born child. Meanwhile the decision to breastfeed new baby is one of the most important decisions a new mother can make about the future health of her baby and herself. But still many first time mothers are hesitant in doing so, because of a wrong perception that it might affect their glamor and beauty. This is unwanted and uncalled for. A few beneficial points on breastfeeding is presented here.

One cannot measure the benefits due to breastfeeding. It helps in fighting and averting few cancers, reduces risk of osteoporosis, helps in reducing weight loss, return to menses at a slower rate, return to better state of uterus to its pre-pregnant stage. All this helps in keeping the body and mind in a better state which aid in natural child spacing.

Mother's milk is the best food for the babies. To what extent it is true? It is highly important that babies must take the yellowish milk of mother just within two hours of getting out of the womb. This prepares the protective shield for the whole life of the baby. Babies must take mother's milk at least for one year and gradually they are made accustomed to other sources of food.
If the mother is a patient of some serious disease babies should gradually be allowed other food. It has been seen that health problem of the mother is transmitted into her baby.

That "yellowish milk" is called colostrum (sp?) and you are absolutely right that it is best if a newborn is able to nurse. Of course there are many reasons why lots of moms are unable to, but it is definitely the best route to go if possible.

Breast feeding is beneficial for the health of both mother and child. All mothers can feed their babies except a few women who are unable to nurse due to some health problems like TB or HIV when there is actual risk of disease transmission to the baby through milk.Breast feeding canbe started after delivery as soon as both mother and baby are stable.

Major benefits:

* Breast milk protects the baby against gastrointestinal and upper respiratory problems e.g common cold, croup.
* Allergic diseases are less common among breast fed babies.
* A relationship between mother and baby develops through breast feeding that gives the baby security and satisfaction.
* Breast feeding helps women lose weight after delivery, and reduces the risk of breast cancer.
* Several attempts has been made to prepare a formula that has similar composition as of breast milk but there is no such composition as nutriotinally beneficial as the human milk.

Breastfeeding is one of the best food for a baby which is also called nursing, can be an easy and inexpensive way for a mother to feed her child. Breast milk provides the right balance diet of nutrients to the baby to help an infant grow into a strong and healthy toddler and the Some of the nutrients in breast milk are also helpful in protecting an infant against some common childhood illnesses and infections, such as diarrhoea and middle ear infections.

And it's all natural, but make sure you eat a healthy diet and ingest as little chemicals as possible when breastfeeding. This means leaving out alcohol and refined foods and using organic skincare and household products.
